China Association of Metros, Guangzhou Metro and the Management Authority for Urban Railways of Ho Chi Minh City signed a memorandum of cooperation in Guangzhou on November 16.
The three sides will formulate common goals to support the study and implementation of the Ho Chi Minh City urban railway system development strategy, including the construction of a new urban railway system by 2035.
Their cooperation includes the sharing of experience and solutions in the early planning of China's rail transit, knowledge sharing and talent training, and the cooperation in construction technology sharing.
Ho Chi Minh City is the largest port city and economic center of Vietnam, and formed a friendly relationship with Guangzhou in 1996.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City is speeding up the construction of urban rail, planning a total of 11 rail transit lines with a total of 225 kilometers. It is expected to complete the construction of a new urban railway network by 2035.
Through more than 30 years of development, Guangzhou Metro has provided design, supervision, operation, consulting, training and informatization services in over 100 cities at home and abroad.
