Planning a long layover at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport? Why not turn it into an unforgettable adventure with Guangzhou's free transit tour program!
Starting from July 11, international transit travelers with a stopover of more than eight hours can now join a free half-day guided tour in Guangzhou to explore the city's vibrant landscapes, historical treasures, and delicious food.
The tour departs from Terminal Two of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 8:30 am every morning. After visiting six popular tourist attractions in the city, the tour group will enjoy a lunch of authentic Cantonese dim sum before returning to the airport at 2 pm.
On the morning of July 11, twelve travelers from Australia, the Netherlands, Argentina, and Russia embarked on the first free transit tour group, spending half a day in Guangzhou. During the launch ceremony, they were also presented with a piece of Guangdong embroidery as a welcoming gift.

Reza Pourakbar and Sara Nick, a couple traveling from Sydney to Dubai with their two children, told GDToday that although there are direct flights between the two cities, they chose to have a 13-hour layover in Guangzhou to join the free transit tour and experience Chinese culture.
The itinerary is as follows:
Departure from Terminal Two, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 8:30 am→Huacheng Square→Guangdong Museum→Guangzhou Library→Guangzhou Opera House→Chen Clan Academy→Yuexiu Park→Lunch with Cantonese dim sum→Returning to the Terminal 2, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 2 pm
