On November 1st, the 2024 Guangzhou International Food Festival kicked off at the Wanbo Center in Panyu. The event was lively and attracted food enthusiasts from across China. It is noted that the festival has successfully been held 27 times.
The food festival is grand in scale, featuring a total of 112 food stalls in the main venue. These stalls are carefully organized into 12 zones, each showcasing different culinary flavors. The stalls offer a wide variety, including Cantonese cuisine, Chinese dishes, international foods, famous snacks, specialty souvenirs, tea, and baked goods, as well as premium ingredients, providing citizens and visitors with a delightful feast.
This year's festival features a strong lineup of exhibitors, including renowned Cantonese restaurants, five-star hotel Chinese restaurants, five-diamond establishments, Michelin-starred and Black Pearl restaurants, as well as famous old brands from Guangzhou recognized by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province. Many high-quality chain dining brands are also present, offering a variety of representative dishes from across the country, allowing food lovers to indulge. Additionally, over ten vendors are distributing tens to thousands of discount coupons, providing consumers with significant savings.
This is Quanjude's first participation in the Guangzhou International Food Festival, where they showcased their signature product—Quanjude roast duck. Wang Xiaoshan, the Operations Director of Quanjude (Group) Co., Ltd., commented, "The atmosphere at the food festival is fantastic, with a large and enthusiastic crowd. We can really feel the charm of Guangzhou as a food capital." She also revealed that Quanjude plans to launch a single item at the Guangzhou Jianguo Hotel and will actively explore the market, hoping to establish the Quanjude brand in Guangzhou.
At the opening ceremony, four top Cantonese chefs—Mai Guangfan, Ye Fei, Zhai Binglin, and Liang En—from the Cantonese, Chaozhou, Hakka, and Hong Kong-Macao cuisines each prepared a signature dish, creating a platter. Following this, renowned Chinese chef Xu Jiale and German chef Rudi showcased their culinary skills in an impressive performance, which captivated the audience and offered a feast for the eyes.
Additionally, the food festival is presented in a "hybrid" format, combining both online and offline elements. Online, citizens and visitors can stay updated on the latest news and sales related to the festival through various platforms. Offline, the main venue not only features food stalls but also hosts a variety of exciting events and interactive activities related to the dining industry. These include the 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Creative Tea Drink Competition, a live-streaming event (where popular influencers meet fans and promote products), a culinary interactive game, and the CityWalk food exploration in the Wanbo business area.
