On the evening of December 27, the 2022 Guangzhou International Lighting Festival opened online. The light festival started on December 27 and will last for 13 days online and offline. The offline branch venue includes Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, architectural lighting works on both sides of the Pearl River, and the venue in Nansha District.
This year's lighting festival is held online for the first time, focusing on the integration of technology and art. The online lighting festival sets up virtual scenes, virtual hosts, and a variety of interactive modes, bringing visitors an immersive visual experience.

This lighting festival can be viewed on the WeChat mini-program "Cloud Kan Lighting Exhibition"(云看燈光節). This mini-program has set up 8 core sections in total through the design of metaverse scene applications. During this period, visitors can experience the latest developments of this year's light show through the digital branch venue, enjoy the beauty of the offline branch venue online, review the light show of the past ten years, and watch the New Year's Eve digital light show.
This program also uses UE5 engine technology to reproduce the virtual scenes of urban landmarks such as Huacheng Square and Haixinsha Asian Games Park in a panoramic manner, allowing visitors to customize their roles and participate in the virtual venue, enjoying the immersive lighting show.

The offline light festival is also worthy of attention. The multimedia lighting works are played on the media fa?ades of 24 buildings along Yanjiang Road, the screens of Liede Bridge, the media fa?ades of buildings in Pazhou West District, and the large screens of Beijing Road Pedestrian Street.
The light show of Beijing Road Pedestrian Street presents the diversity and innovation of Lingnan culture through national trends and intangible cultural heritage. And the light shows of the buildings along Yanjiang Road, Liede Bridge, and the buildings in Pazhou West District have been designed around the theme of "Appreciating the Pearl River at Night".
