Audiences will see watercolor paintings, rice-paper plant pith paintings, oil paintings, sketches, and botanical scientific illustrations collected by the South China National Botanical Garden over the past hundred years, which mainly depict species native to the Lingnan area. At the same time, a batch of plant specimens, insect specimens, and ancient books of Japanese natural history are also on display together with the paintings.

Furthermore, the design of the exhibition hall incorporates Lingnan garden elements such as octagonal gates, ceramic sunflower-shaped windows, and red brick fences, with green vines, two large peacock specimens, as well as specimens of other birds and insects as decoration. Visiting the exhibition is like a stroll in the botanical garden.
